Process Mapping Concepts & Techniques - Course Number PTS102

This 2-day workshop is designed to provide participants with a basic working knowledge of process mapping and improvement techniques. Students may choose to analyze an existing process they are having problems with or may use the case study company provided. During the two days, participants will define the current process, identify existing problems and potential solutions, design an improved process and develop an implementation plan.

Topics Covered:
  • Cross-functional process maps

    Learn how to identify, define and document cross-functional business processes.
  • Value added analysis

    Identify the value each activity adds to the overall process and the impact on the customer.
  • Problems & disconnects

    Identify, capture and prioritize problems or disconnects associated with the current process environment.
  • Performance Measures

    Identify and define criteria for measuring and monitoring process performance.
  • Cycle time analysis

    Assess process performance based on cycle and elapsed time and identify areas to improve overall process time.
  • Developing implementation plans

    Understand the components of an effective process implementation plan.
